bruh its 3 am i cant let go of this and im not even a hololive regular watcher or even remember activelly watching a stream, this just so good and im so endeared by everything ah so good
There should be something to enhance the playability of the 'space' stage, as it is very repetitive and doesn't offer any advantage for extending gameplay... it would be nice if there was something more exciting. Here are some ideas I thought of: asteroids of different sizes and positions (which would give different points based on their size), a points increase based on the duration of the game (like a 10% increase every 10 km), and a final boss (!!!) at a certain distance (like at 60 km).
Space was thought as a side minigame to spend excess Hope Stones and do some rng rolls to eventually get the upgrades. It's not meant to be a full game on its own. However, I'll see if I can expand it a bit in the future to make it more enjoyable.
I don't know if I'm the only one, but the game is completely bugged out on browser. It loads completely, I get the Unity sign and your logo, but after that I get a black screen. I would love to keep playing your game, so I hope there is a fix to it! Thank you for all the effort you keep putting into it.
I'm using Google Chrome. I've always used Google Chrome to play on Itch and this game, but this is the first time the black screen shows up. I tried the CTRL + F5 combination, but after loading again it still shows black.
The browser console doesn't show any error messages.
I cleared the cache by going into Chrome settings and it worked! However, I did lose my save data.
I'm sorry about your savefile! Hmm... at this point I can only think that the savefile somehow got corrupted and the game gets stuck waiting to read a value it never finds. I'll check the save file loading code and see if I can add some safeguard against unexpected corrupted data.
Edit: One more question: When the game got stuck on the black screen, was it before or after it shows chibiRyS downloading screen?
There is just one thing that would make it perfect: usually in this type of game, it’s possible to upgrade the 'launcher' by increasing its strength, accuracy, and the height of the launch platform, allowing you to reach higher speeds and greater distances more quickly as you level up.
I’m tired of hitting bae 70% of the time right after the launch! :-D
I decided not to include upgrades to the initial launch because its effect on the overall score is minimal.
I think the launcher games that give the option to upgrade the initial launch only have the player interact at the start of the run and the rest of the flight is mostly watching things happen and pray to be lucky. This game is different. The character boosts you get along the way as well as your own boost strategy are what determine your final distance.
Oh and Bae right after the launch is intended. However, when you retry, she should be in a different spot. :)
This update is awesome and I especially enjoy The Cell. Sadly I can't say the same about Space mode. The mode is fine gameplay-wise but feels unrewarding and demotivating currently. Progressing is extremely slow. I imagine that is the point considering the powerful permanent upgrades to gain, but the amounts and frequency at which you gain points make it hard to want to play it. Prior to writing this, I did 3 runs which lasted between 4-5 minutes each, and only gained 30 points. Comparing that to the final upgrade needing 8300 is demoralizing especially considering this mode has a buy-in to play it.
I think the asteroids dropping some amount of points when broken will go a long way towards feeling like you are still progressing if your luck with Sana isn't great.
Otherwise, the game is great and it has been my favorite way to idle since you released it on mobile. I'm glad you are continuing to update it after so long!
I agree that currently Space mode is very luck based and not much progress is felt if the player has a bad rng. I think your idea of having asteroids drop points could help. Maybe every X asteroids you get 1 point. I'll do some testing and see what number I come with.
The high cost of the final upgrade is because these are supposed to be "end game" upgrades and should take a relatively long time and multiple play sessions to obtain them. On the other hand, the first couple of upgrades are much cheaper to allow more players to access them (relatively) quickly. I think in my tests I unlocked the first one in less than 2 hours of "spacing".
I've seen a player already unlock the 3rd upgrade and it's been less than a week since the update dropped, so I guess they play Space a lot more and/or are luckier with their wheel spins. XD
i don't watch hololive, but it was still pretty fun! i wish you could disable the animations/cutscenes when interacting with the characters, though... does get annoying getting interrupted every second when going at really fast speeds.
Hmm... I think the animations are the charm point of the game, but I see why they can get annoying in certain moments of the game when they trigger very often. I'll think about adding some kind of setting to disable them. No promises, though!
Hello, I enjoyed the game's 4.0 update, but the new update doesn't seem to be loading. It fills the little loading IRyS then turns to a black screen. If I fullscreen with the black screen, it just shows a completed loading bar but doesn't do anything. (I've been on the screen for an hour now.) playing on browser if that helps. Thx in advance
That's unusual. Could you provide more details to see if we can find the problem? What browser are you using? CPU model, Memory and GPU will also help.
Also, have you tried forcing refresh with a clean cache? Usually is CTRL+F5
A screenshot of the browser console can also help me understand where the problem may be if there are any error messages showing there (usually in red).
It is available but it's being deployed progressively, not for all devices at once. If I don't see any stability issues in a few hours it should go to everyone later in the day.
Hi, I was curious (and sorry if this question has been asked alot) but is there any plans to put this game on steam. If there is, would be be under the Holoindie brand or under your personal brand. Thank you for the game and your time.
I don’t know if this is a Delivering Hope issue or an itch.io client issue, but after the update, hitting “launch” gave two identical buttons to click on. One launched the old version and the other launched the new version. I couldn’t see any way to hide or otherwise disable the old version, and even renaming its folder didn’t help. Finally I had to rename the old .exe (to not be an .exe anymore). Don’t know if this is the expected upgrade experience and it seems important given the warnings about not using the old version after the new one.
That sounds like an itch.io client issue to me. I haven't used it, so I don't know how it works, but maybe there's a refresh button somewhere? Or maybe it needs to be restarted to "forget" the old version.
About the save file corruption warning, it's mainly for versions 3 and earlier. Version 4 and 5 have some additional mechanisms to prevent corruption so it shouldn't happen.
I did try refreshing/restarting before that — it didn’t change anything, though. Not sure what the client expects from games to handle this situation, other than possibly having different names on the .exe, since it does show the file name and size on those two buttons. Maybe they expect the names to contain the version number, and they rely on the user seeing that?
Hey! I was playing your game as part of the new 5.0.0 update! I wanted to say that you did an amazing job adding the new content for things like Jailbreak mode and Space mode. I had a couple things I wanted to point out that I was thinking as a bit of a QA brain.
First of all, I wanted to point out a couple bug I was able to find. In the potions menu when you select to play standard mode, if you try to hit the X in the upper right, it doesn't close the menu out sadly.
Secondly, There are some times where in space mode even while "Sana's Beeg Wheele" is spinning or such, Ame is still moving. As a result, you can end up getting bumped by Ame in this and crashed into meteors.
Lastly, This isn't a bug but... I feel that there is a lack of like...knowing how far along I have gotten in space mode? Could there be something like an altitude tracker added or something of the sort that way i can tell how far I've gotten each time?
- I couldn't repro the X button one. Maybe some additional details will help figure out what's happening. Does this happen on the web version? If so, what browser are you using? Are you using mouse and kb or controller? Do you have a controller plugged in while playing (even if you don't use it)?
- I'll fix this in the next patch, thanks for reporting.
Thank you for the distance suggestion for the Space mode. While the goal of this mode is not to fly far, but to obtain as many points as you can to unlock the rewards, it could be interesting to add some way to keep track of how far you've gone in space. I'll think about it.
To explain further on the X button one, I dont play it on the web browser. I use mouse and keyboard to play the game of course, and no I do not have a controller plugged in.
What I exactly do is i boot the game on window 11, click play, select standard, and then try to close out of the potions menu. I have attached a gif about what that looks like. If you look closely at the bottom of the potions menu you can see how there is menus closing BEHIND the potions menu, but not the potions menu itself.
If there are further details you can think of me sharing id be more than happy to do that or meet up with you sometime.
Very interesting... I wonder if it's a Windows 11 specific issue. I can't seem to repro it on my Windows 10 machine, unfortunately.
Does it also happen when you play in the browser?
The GIF is very useful! I analyzed it frame by frame and I can see the "start" screen go up and then down in the back. I have a potential suspect for this issue but I'm not 100% sure since I can't repro locally.
From testing, it seems that the issue is NOT reproducible on browser actually. Which is very strange honestly. I also saw you put up an update for 5.0.1 and i decided to download that and test it there as well. It ALSO still happens on the downloaded version for that.
Yeah... I do have a windows 10 machine actually as well, its an older pc but it should work. Do you want me to test the same download on that machine? (Its not as high spec wise but it should be able to run the game)
Yeah the cell mode is good for me. Much speed, very fun. Had some hiccups in that one, causing the run to go maybe 20 seconds longer than it could have been, but that was a nice one.
Really enjoyed the game—it’s clear a lot of creativity and effort went into it! One suggestion: the screen can feel a bit overwhelming with so much happening at once. Simplifying the on-screen elements might help keep the focus on gameplay. Also, making the controls and mechanics a bit more intuitive could make it easier for players to dive in without needing to read through instructions. Overall, great work and tons of potential!
Can you provide suggestions for simplifying the on-screen elements? I'm pretty sure everything on the screen serves a purpose, so instead of removing parts maybe you're suggesting modifying the size of some elements?
Most players I've watched play my game don't read the instructions and eventually figure out how things work. What should I change to make things more intuitive?
Hey, loving version 5.0, thanks so much for making this game! Encountered a bug in Space where Sana's wheel UI didn't go away, which caused me to not be able to exit the mode when I died. Wanted to see if filing a bug report is something I can do. I can send you game files or logs if you need. Video of the bug is here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2295416786?t=01h35m35s Playing the Windows downloaded version.
I added a bunch of safeguards to prevent that from happening but I guess it wasn't enough. I'll check your video later to see if I can figure out what's going on and issue a bugfix patch.
I really wish Bae would not always act like she is a complete stop but instead when you have a certain amount of speed you just slow down heavily when getting into contact with her. The amount of runs that got ended because i was too fast to even react to her is too high. She can still cause a complete stop when you're not going at least lets say 40 m/s or whatever i don't care, but i feel like when you're going that fast you should not get stopped instantly when you even just as much as clip her hair.
I guess that's also just some venting from me, since i had some promising runs that nearly got to 20k, but having a mechanic like that would make it feel more rewarding at that part of the run, when you got some speed and at least 1 or 2 fusions in the bag to maybe get past a few unlucky meatballs without spending boosts, since those are the only safety line when there is no rat blocker of any kind available.
In older flash games like "toss the turtle" you also had instant stops, but i did not care about those, because the runs themselfes are just so much faster, but this game can take a while to get those bigger distances, so those instant run enders can be really scary.
It's still a very nice game to go back to, but that's a mechanic i just do not like in the way it is right now.
Thank you for playing my game and for your detailed feedback.
Having Bae as an instant run ender is part of the core game design.
The player must learn to save their boosts and use them strategically to keep them safe from Bae, use the downboost to catch sodas when low in boosts or even use it as an emergency way to go over Bae by bouncing on the ground in front of her. And if downboost has been upgraded enough, it can also be used to boost almost horizontally and go past Bae.
Additionally, there are multiple ways to prevent an instant run end when facing Bae: Rat blocker, Divorce papers, Rebirth, Phoenix Fire, Gura's Bubble, Strawberry and the Rat Repellent potion.
I agree that trying to dodge Bae when going extremely fast is very difficult... but also very rewarding if you manage to do it. It's up to the player to go slow and safe or go fast and risky.
You can also try Baeless mode, where you won't need to worry about hitting Bae at all. :)
Finally, here's a little "leak" from the next game update: There will be a way to make some rat "defense" mechanics more effective. XD
Sounds promising. Also you didn't need to give me a reply. It really was mostly just me venting. If you want to maybe get one thing out of my rant it is that going fast is fun. So giving us more options to go even faster in the midgame is always welcome, even with the downside of getting stopped instantly.
Is this game done? Is it possible for you to update this game even with just IRyS's new songs? I just want to hear Carbonated Love while playing this game again. Thank you :)
I'm evaluating if I'll include Carbonated Love. I definitely won't add every new IRyS song in the game, though. It's better to mute the game music and stream IRyS' songs on Spotify or other official platforms in the background. That way you support her music!
I was really looking forward to playing this off-browser but it seems the download version doesn't agree with me... I get audio and an icon appears in my task bar, but no window for the game shows up. The best I get is a tiny, virtually invisible top-right-of-a-window x button that doesn't work.
Guess I'll have to stick to browser form where it works perfectly.
Oh right, sorry! Pretty dumb to make that post and not provide any info.
Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Radeon RX 6700 XT

Win10 Home Ver. 22H2
Running 2 separate monitors both at 1080p.
Here's a screenshot of all that comes up when attempting to run 4.0.3 from the provided link, zoomed in 'cause its hard to see where it opened but that's the entirety of the on-screen application. The close button only works at the edge of either side, and the 'window' can not be moved or interacted with otherwise.
I believe this is caused by an incorrect registry entry, which is VERY rare.
You can try forcing the game to launch in the correct resolution by setting some additional parameters in a shortcut.
1. Right click the game exe and create a new shortcut
2. Right click the shortcut and select "properties"
3. At the end of the "Target" textbox, add the following, leaving a space after the quotes: -screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 1280 -screen-height 720
This is how it looks on my PC (it's in Spanish but it should help you identify where to add the parameters)
4. Save the shortcut
5. Launch the game using this shortcut.
Once you've launched the game, you should be able to set your desired screen resolution in the settings menu. Once you've done that and closed the game, you should not need the shortcut anymore and just double click on the exe to launch the game.
I bet I could've gone way farther if Bae hadn't sneaked up on me while I was breaking the highway speed limit at low altitude without any safety items. (I should probably try not to do that in the future.)
Great game! The android version runs really well on my switch lite ( running android 11 ) and my phone, but I was wondering, since I’m playing on the switch lite and can just use the joysticks and buttons, would it be possible to hide the two buttons for touch controls when I play? Thank you!
That's an interesting way to play the game. This is the first time I've heard of running android on a switch.
Unfortunately the mobile build is not designed for that kind of use. It's expected to be run on a phone with a touchscreen. I'll see if I can add a setting to hide the button visuals (the buttons will still be on the screen, just invisible).
Oh, if you have a photo of the game running on a Switch, I'd love to see it! :D
The game runs very smoothly, and all the physical buttons and joysticks function properly! My switch has a hwfly lite modchip running hwfly-nx firmware ( I think ) and is the switch is running android 11 ( lineage os 18,1 ) at base-clock.
This is an amazing game, would recommend this for anyone to play it, however, I do have one thing I feel was semi annoying and it may just be me, but not having any hint of how to make the fusions gets frustrating, it's cool to just try combos out and hope for a fusion, but after a while, it becomes this sort of tedious grind to try and get them with how slow leveling can end up being. Solid 9.5/10 game.
Some players have posted fusion guides you can use as reference, but the intended experience is to find the fusions by experimentation and chance. I would've loved to have every single powerup combine with another so that the chances of finding a new fusion are higher... but some combos made no sense and adding so many fusions would've required a loooooot more work.
There's no need to rush to find all fusions. You will eventually find them by playing normally. XD

A simple feature to develop, in my opinion, would be the ability to choose the number of stones to use. For example:

I don't know if I'm the only one, but the game is completely bugged out on browser. It loads completely, I get the Unity sign and your logo, but after that I get a black screen. I would love to keep playing your game, so I hope there is a fix to it! Thank you for all the effort you keep putting into it.
Hello!
I've seen reports of something like this happening to other people, but I need more info to try and find a way to fix it.
What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing the cache and refreshing? (usually done by pressing CTRL+F5)
Does the browser console show any error messages?
I'm using Google Chrome. I've always used Google Chrome to play on Itch and this game, but this is the first time the black screen shows up. I tried the CTRL + F5 combination, but after loading again it still shows black.
The browser console doesn't show any error messages.
I cleared the cache by going into Chrome settings and it worked! However, I did lose my save data.
Thank you for troubleshooting the game.
Thank you so much!
No problem! Losing the savefile is alright. It's just an opportunity to play the game all over again.
The game got stuck after every chibiRys downloading and loading screen.
Update: The game broke again. It breaks at the exact same point after every loading chibiRys as last time.
Hmm.. at this point I'm suspecting it is your PC.
Could you provide the tech details? CPU, memory, OS version, language
Thank you.

Thank you for playing!
Thank you for your feedback!
Thank you for the bug report!
I added a bunch of safeguards to prevent that from happening but I guess it wasn't enough. I'll check your video later to see if I can figure out what's going on and issue a bugfix patch.
Thanks again!
I'm currently working on the next update.
I'm evaluating if I'll include Carbonated Love. I definitely won't add every new IRyS song in the game, though. It's better to mute the game music and stream IRyS' songs on Spotify or other official platforms in the background. That way you support her music!
It's over 9000! Finally broke the barrier. I love this game so much.
Oh, that's weird.
Could you provide your PC specs? Processor, GPU, Windows version, monitor resolution.
Maybe we can figure out what's happening with some more info.
Oh right, sorry! Pretty dumb to make that post and not provide any info.
Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core
Radeon RX 6700 XT
32 gb RAM
Win10 Home Ver. 22H2
Running 2 separate monitors both at 1080p.
Here's a screenshot of all that comes up when attempting to run 4.0.3 from the provided link, zoomed in 'cause its hard to see where it opened but that's the entirety of the on-screen application. The close button only works at the edge of either side, and the 'window' can not be moved or interacted with otherwise.
Audio plays the opening jingle on endless repeat.
I hope it helps.
Works perfectly, thanks very much for the help and your time!
This was so cool! I've delivered so much hope! Thanks for this game!
Thank you for playing! I'm glad you had a good time.
Make sure you try the other game modes too! Baeless mode is especially intense! XD
I bet I could've gone way farther if Bae hadn't sneaked up on me while I was breaking the highway speed limit at low altitude without any safety items. (I should probably try not to do that in the future.)
Nice flight!
Yeah, it's recommended to have a rat blocker or divorce papers ready when entering the high speed beach area. XD
Thank you for playing! :)
Hope has arrived!
OMG It looks amazing! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for playing!
XD
